It is always the big events that draw headlines or our attention, and while those extraordinary acts of kindness are always inspiring and heartwarming, they can have the unintended consequence of causing inaction in the rest of us. Not from a lack of desire to help but because we can't do the big or the flashy, and we believe the smaller acts that we are capable of don't matter.
I want to encourage you that even the smallest acts of kindness from your perspective can have huge impacts on the lives of those around you. We've all been in a situation where someone offers us the kindness that we need at exactly the right moment. It was easy for them, but it means the world to us.
Never forget that you can be that for someone else. We all can't perform the big and the flashy, but all of us can help out those around us. Even if it is as simple as holding an elevator or letting someone enter traffic ahead of you. You have no idea what people are going through, and what you see as a small thing could be exactly what they need to keep their world from falling apart.

One small gift changed the course of this Single Mom's Life
In January 2020, a single mom was at the end of her rope after a difficult divorce. She was doing everything she could to support herself and her two kids but it was hard and getting harder. In her desperation, she reaches out in an online community asking for extra freelance work. One person reached out and gave her a gift that helped get her back on her feet and renewed her vigor to extend help to those around her.
