It is always my goal when you read this newsletter it will brighten your day and hopefully encourage you to share that good feeling with those around you. As I encouraged you last week remember to enjoy the sunshine even as you prepare for bad weather. There are so many good moments we miss while focusing on the bad. I hope that today wherever you are you experience and share in a moment of joy.

You don't know their story...

We can all use some help from time to time. Even under the best circumstance we all can face challenges and need a hand up to face the day. This week I stumbled across a video that perfectly illustrates how important it is to be kind to those around us and lend the helping hand when we can.

Your challenge this week is to be a non-judgmental helping hand to someone. Sometimes it is easier to help someone we feel superior to or determined based on our perception of someone's life that they are worthy of help. Equally, we can find it difficult to help some we don't think is deserving or in need.

But at the end of the day, we all need help, and we shouldn't have to bare our souls or be judged deserving to get it. Let's apply the golden rule, and stop asking people to prove they are worthy of help when they need it. Let's all help out when we can, no questions asked or strings attached.

My Sister’s Closet of West Michigan, MSCWM, sets out to do. MSCWM is a service of Church Builders Bible Training Center to survivors of domestic violence, former incarceration, or other devastating tragedy to meet the need of one of the three basic needs of survival, clothing. We are in the planning stages with the goal of launching this fall. Find out more and how to volunteer here.

Mexican Immigrant Facing Deportation Finds Reprieve and Hope

Maximiliano Trejo walked out of the small immigration courtroom a free man. His family and neighbors embraced him. They applauded his attorney. They turned to pray. Trejo wouldn’t be deported from his longtime home near Dallas. Trejo’s more than two decades in Texas were determined by a judge to be evidence the Mexican roofer was an asset to his community not a threat to public safety. As a result, the judge decided to close the case against Trejo in March and let him stay with his family.
