Editor's Note

Life is full of opportunities to take chances, and too often for fear of failure, we don't try. Next time, remember these wise words from George Eliot, “It is never too late to be what you might have been.” Today is always an opportunity to turn a possibility into a reality. Take the chance, your future self will thank you.

Positivity in Practice

Try Anyway

One of my favorite poems as a child was Shel Silverstein's Woulda Coulda Shoulda. It is short, sweet and an excellent lesson. So often we let our fears, anxiety, and imaginations prevent us from taking risks and trying new things. Worse still, we often spend days, weeks, months, and sometimes years later revisiting those missed opportunities filled with regret.

My friend, we cannot change the past but we do have the power to shape our futures with the decisions and chances we take today. When you read the poem, you will see that the best thing to prevent future regret is try.

Here's your homework for this week: dare to try. We should never let the fear or anticipation of possible failures stop us from trying. Over the next week, I encourage you to be bold and seek out those new experiences. It is never too late. Even those that don't go the way you planned, are still worthy of pursuing. Learn from your mistakes, celebrate your victories and challenge yourself to reach higher, and reexamine your perspective. You will learn so much about yourself and the world around you. But best of all you won't have to carry regrets with you.

Email us and let us know how it goes. We may feature you in a future issue.
