Editor's Note

Pursuing our dreams or goals is never a singular decision. It is a series of decisions that we make every single day. Don't let yourself be discouraged by minor setbacks or delays. Just keep working toward your goals, and I promise you will get to where you want to go.

Positivity in Practice

Fighting the Inertia

Newton's first law of motion is that an object in motion or rest will continue its motion or rest unless acted upon by an outside force (cue the Bill Nye theme). Inertia can also be used to describe a person's tendency to remain unchanged.

That's what I want to talk about, our tendency to maintain the status quo. Try exploring your reasons for maintaining the status quos of your life. Are you happy or content with them? Are you scared to pursue a change? Are you unsure of how to make a change even though you want one? I can't answer these questions for you, but I encourage you to boldly pursue the changes that you want to see in your life. I also want to encourage you to celebrate every moment you beat the inertia.

Here's your homework, change is a process, and while we navigate it we need to remember that fighting inertia is an important step. Every time you resist your instinct and pursue change that it a win. Don't gloss over those moments; enjoy them and embrace them. Be the force that changes and shapes your life.

Email us and let us know how it goes. We may feature you in a future issue.
