Editor's Note

All too often, our news, social media feeds, and even our conversations with friends and family are centered around anxiety-filling and rage-inducing content. It can be so difficult to believe good things happen every day when the things reported or shared are examples of the worst humanity has to offer.

That’s why we started Real Positive Vibes. We wanted to create a haven inside your inbox to share some good news with you. We hope that while you read our newsletter, you can recharge and feel refreshed.

Positivity in Practice

It really is the small things...

Emerson once said, "To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment." This quote really resonated with me this week. But let's be honest, resisting the forces and pressures to conform, is always easier said than done. Still, it is a worthy goal and I think it is one of those goals that we both reach and celebrate by inches.

For instance, something as simple as unapologetically enjoying your favorite music, shows, or food, is embracing and being yourself. Despite whatever societal feedback you might be getting to adjust your preferences. Being true to yourself is, of course, more than surface desires but these smaller things are often our first line of defense. So take this opportunity to fortify yourself, and embrace those little things about you that others tried to take away. The more accepting and understanding we are about those little pieces of ourselves the easier it becomes to embrace and cherish the bigger parts.

So this week I want you to dance in your living room to your favorite song, watch a marathon of your favorite show or enjoy your favorite meal. Don't justify to yourself or anyone else why you like it, just enjoy it. Give yourself the space and the room to enjoy a simple pleasure without a reason. I hope that this moment of joy will carry you through until next week when we meet again.

Email us and let us know how you bring a little positivity to your life. We would love to hear it and we may feature you in a future issue.
